If you’ve not been living under rocks, then you must know that super couple Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli got hitched in a secret ceremony on Monday. Every single celebrity from the film as well as cricket fraternity came forward to extend their wishes to the newlyweds. But among those names, one big name was missing and that none other than Deepika Padukone’s. Padmavati actress didn’t post anything on her social media, suggesting that she refrained from wishing Anushka Sharma on her big day.
For the uninitiated, Anushka Sharma was rumored to be dating Ranveer Singh during Band Baaja Baaraat. But after seeing each other for a while, they had a fallout, following which, Anushka Sharma went on dating Virat Kohli while Ranveer Singh got into a relationship with Deepika Padukone.
The air between Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone improved when the latter appreciated the Jab Tak Hai Jaan actress for her Koffee With Karan episode. She tweeted: “The girls were on fire! What a fun episode…”
But now when the things are okay between the ladies, why didn’t Deepika Padukone wish Anushka Sharma on her big day. Here’s the answer.
According to Pinkvilla, an insider clears that Deepika Padukone wished both Anushka and Virat personally with a warm message. He said, “ Maybe not on social media, but Deepika has wished the happy couple personally and it was a warm message. She texted them both her best wishes individually post the wedding.”
He further clarified, “Deepika likes to add her own personal touch to whatever she does – be it her own team or friends and social media can be a cold and impersonal way of conveying one’s feelings. Also, she has always been very supportive of Anushka in everything she has done as Anushka has been of her. They may have had issues in the past but now both have found admiration and respect for each other.”
Anushka Sharma got married to her longtime boyfriend and Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Monday in a hush-hush ceremony. The couple exchanged their wedding vows in a countryside resort of Italy. Later, they shared the big news on their respective social media with a wedding picture. They are scheduled to host a wedding reception in New Delhi on December 21 for their relatives. They will be hosting a lavish party in Mumbai on December 26 for their close friends from film and cricket fraternity. On the work front, Anushka Sharma will appear in her home production horror film Pari. It is scheduled to release February 9, 2018.
