In a time when people are addicted to technology, men of science announced that we will enter a time period of solar storms that could cause global chaos. Although it may not seem much, this has major implications on our everyday life. Just imagine that you we have to give up your smartphone, your computer and every gadget you love.
Infrastructure will be affected worldwide. Equipment in hospitals, banking systems, equipment for air traffic control, computers, navigation systems is some of the devices whose activity would be severely disrupted or even interrupted. Also, solar storms could seriously damage Earth financially. Just think about it, no computers no more banking systems. Most of today’s registers are kept online and a solar storm can make all those registers vanish.
A massive cloud of charged particles could affect the electricity networks, satellites and GPS services, especially in northern areas. At the same time, a solar storm could cause colourful auroras far beyond the poles than usual. But nothing can be compared with the loss of internet. I just could not imagine my life without the internet. Just imagine how many people have their businesses online. What will happen to all these internet business models? Brokerage, advertising, infomediary, merchant, manufacturer, internet marketing, affiliate, community, subscription and utility models could disappear overnight.
According to NASA representatives, the future solar flares could affect a large part of Earth’s population. Mainly because electronic devices are more present in our lives today than last time such an event took place, in 1859. As new technologies have emerged since scientists could discover some new systems that are also at risk, said Jeffrey Hughes, director of Center for Integrated Models of Space Climate from Boston University.
If we prepare now for what follows, then negative effects will be mitigated concluded the researchers.
What Would Life Be Like Without Technology?
Some say it would be a mess, especially now that we are used to all this. But life without technology is not necessarily worse, it’s just different. Maybe this fresh life would be the comeback of organic conversations. It’s would be the perfect time to appreciate the things that surround us. We will gain more time to put some value on things really valuable. Maybe this way we will see things not on the surface but we will manage to find our soul, our way, our destiny.
