British journalist and TV personality Piers Morgan got on the wrong side of India when he wrote a sarcastic tweet about India’s performance at the Rio Olympics. Obviously, his opinion did not please Indian users of Twitter and they trolled him for religiously.

Piers’ tweet has come at a time when India is coloured in celebratory color. Wrestler Sakshi Mallik and badminton player PV Sindhu won bronze and silver medals respectively at the Olympics, becoming ‘super girls’ people cant stop talking about. The two brought the medal tally to two and made every Indian proud.

But, Piers had a different take to all this. In his tweet he said that a country of 1.2 billion is celebrating the loss of their two athletes (as neither Malik nor Sindhu won a gold).

Taking offence for his comment, Twitteratti were quick to rip him off. Users of the micro blogging website promptly reminded Piers of all the faults that lie within his country. Have a look at the tweets:

Later Piers’ also tweeted that Indians should not play the blame game and concentrate on improving the sports condition. Few people agreed with him too.

Amidst all the brickbats that Piers received, novelist Chetan Bhagat apologised to him for the trolls and added that he lives with his share too. Seeing Chetan’s ‘bromance’ on the website, Twitter users added that they would make a great ‘couple’. Check out the tweets in which users ‘swiped right’ (much like the dating app Tinder) to Chetan and Piers’ ‘love story’.
