In the book, Tom has studied a total of 233 wealthy people and their habits. As per him, following are the 7 habits you need to inculcate in your life in order to be successful and rich:

1. Reading

Successful people do not read just for entertainment but also read self-help books, history books, and autobiographies. In fact, as many as 80% successful people think reading is essential. They recommend at least 30 minutes of reading each day.

 

 

2. Exercise

Studies have revealed that working out and physical activities keep your mind fresh and your mind motivated. It is most important to take care of your health, especially when you’re young and have the time for it. Tom Corley says that at least 76% of the successful people devote 30 minutes to running, jogging or cycling.

 

3. Building a Network 

There is a saying that you can only be successful if you have the successful people in your network. It is important to develop relations with highly motivated people. At the same time, it is equally important to stay away from negative people.

 

4. Pursuing Goals

Millionaires don’t become millionaires by accident. They plan. They work hard. And they are always determined. They set both short term and long term goals and achieve them. This requires a consistent effort.

 

5. Sleep Well

Sleep is necessary for your body and mind to rejuvenate. All your cells in the body get repaired only when you sleep. So in order to be productive at work, you have to have a good night’s sleep of 8 hours.

 

6. Multiple Sources of Income

Successful people don’t rely on just one source of income, they try to develop a number of sources. 65% of successful people say that they have at least three sources of income which earned them their first million dollars.

 

7. Don’t Waste Time

 Time is precious and is never coming back. Every single minute you waste is a minute that you could’ve spent being productive. Once you realize the importance of time, you will automatically become more self-aware.

 

These seven habits have been proven to be ladders to success. These are pretty easy to follow and with time, these will become a part of your routine. So keep following!
