“When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” This was the last facebook post of India’s most famous woman biker Veenu Paliwal who breathed her last on Monday following a road accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha district.

She left Lucknow early on Monday and was heading for Bhopal, when her motorcycle skidded off the road.

Paliwal’s passion for biking broke stereotype in India where riding bikes is still considered a men’s territory.

What stood her out was that despite being a mother and a successful entrepreneur, she managed to indulge in her passion for riding bikes.

Known for driving a Harley Davidson at 180kmph, Paliwal frequently undertook road trips with various groups and has the credit of having completed a 20 thousand kilometres journey, across India.

Paliwal opened Cha Bar – a lounge and Victorian tea room in Jaipur.

Veenu’s inspiration for bikes came from her father’s pictures that depict him riding a Yezdi Rajdoot.

Paliwal was a headstrong woman who wanted to motivate more and more woman to follow their passion, but not by proclaiming it or talking about it, but by setting an example.
