Shridhar Chillal, an octogenarian who has made India proud by earning the Guinness World Record title to his name finally decided to cut his long nails in a nail cutting ceremony in New York. The 82-year-old has had his left-hand nails over 9 meters long for over 66 years.

For the nail clipping ceremony yesterday on July 11, Mr. Chillal was flown from Pune to New York for this ceremony by Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum, where his nails will be immortalized. According to the World Record, it is estimated that the nails have a combined length of 909.6 centimeters. However, Chillal’s longest single nail is his thumbnail, measuring 197.8 centimeters. In 2016, he bagged the title of Guinness Book of World Records for having the ‘Longest Fingernails on a Single Hand Ever’. Chillal, who hails from Pune, had requested that his nails be immortalized after getting cut, so now Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum will exhibit his fingernails at Times Square, New York.
