Here are some quick tips on a muscle building routine using the bench press. It will enhance the effectiveness of how you use the bench press to make sure you get the results you want.

The first tip, once you have the bars in your hand make sure your hands do not fall back. Keep wrists straight and is in line with the forearm and elbow. This lets the muscles support the weight effectively.

The second tip, if you’re doing the bench press make sure that the bar touches the same point on your chest for every rep and try to hold it on that point for a few seconds (5 seconds or more). Do not release the bar too quickly.

The third tip, as you pull the bar make sure that you drive your feet to the ground. This makes it easier for you to pull the bar and is also one way of making sure you maintain a good posture while doing it.

The fourth tip, change your grip patterns once in a while. Alternate from a wide grip to a close grip and vice versa. This makes sure all the muscles you use during bench press gets a maximum amount of work.

The final tip is to make sure that you get rest from the bench press once or twice in a week. This gives your muscles time to grow and rebuild. Remember that muscles do not grow during exercise but during rest.

Follow these tips, work hard, be disciplined, eat a nutritious and healthy diet and you’re sure to have that great body you always want.
