Diabetes or commonly known as ‘sugar’ is not the disease to be taken lightly. It’s fast gaining the status of a potential epidemic in India with more than 62 million diabetic individuals currently diagnosed with the disease.
The seriousness of the disease can be judged from the fact that this year’s theme of World Health Day is – ‘Halt the rise: beat diabetes’. And its rightly so, today we find a diabetic patient in every household. People in younger age group are struck by the disease, even in some cases newborn babies are found to be diagnosed with diabetes.
As per the study on global prevalence of diabetes in world, it is predicted to double globally from 171 million in 2000 to 366 million in 2030 with a maximum increase in India.
So it’s high time we pay heed to this disease before it becomes a monster! And it’s possible to control it if we follow the adequate lifestyle and food habits.
Here are some tips for you to cure diabetes:
1. Stop Eating Sugar In Any Form
The main cause of diabetes is excessive intake of sugar. If you are eating food which is low on fibre and has extra sugar content, it will lead to increase insulin level in your blood and will lead to diabetes. Stop eating sugar (synthetic, white, brown) and focus on increasing fibre intake.
2. Exercise:
When you exercise it burns the excessive sugar in body. It is very important for diabetic patient to do regular exercise as it removes the sugar contents from your body.
3. Say No To White Food
Sugar doesn’t just come from the kitchen or in your cup of tea. It also comes from the white food – white flour, white rice, white pasta, white bread, white potatoes etc. White food is made fibreless in the mills while processing, avoid it to cut don your sugar intake.
