New Delhi: Art of Living (AoL) spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is in the midst of a string of controversies. First it was the World Culture Festival on Yamuna banks that drew the Green Tribunal’s ire. Then came Sri Sri’s stinging criticism of the Nobel Prize and a claim that he refused the Nobel that attracted a lot of attention on the social media. Now, shaking a leg to a hit Bollywood number has gone viral on the social media.

A video of Sri Sri dancing to the tune of ‘Jiya Dhadak Dhadak Jaye’ during an Ashram Satsang has sent the social media into a frenzy.

Although the video uploaded on YouTube is old, the controversy over Sri Sri’s recent comments on the Nobel Peace Prize has gained so much fire that people started trending the video on social media.

In this video, Sri Sri can be seen thrilled by the music and cheering with the audience to the beats of the song.

Reacting to the controversy over the Nobel, AoL today clarified saying Sri Sri never said that he was offered the Nobel Peace Prize in the past and that he had rejected it.

In a statement, AOL said that during Sri Sri’s visit to the foundation’s water conservation project in Latur last month, a reporter had asked him ‘are you doing all this work for the Nobel Prize?’

To this, Sri Sri replied: “Not at all. What will I do with a prize? We have been doing social work for years now and it has not been for prizes. When good work is done, people think it is for a prize. There is no logic in this. When a 16-year-old girl, without any body of work, gets the prize, you get a sense that you don’t need to do much to get the Peace Prize. There are political factors at play.”

When someone specifically pointed that ‘you have to lobby for the prize’, Sri Sri said, “I will not do so.”

“The Art of Living firmly refutes the statement made in several articles that quote Sri Sri Ravi Shankar as saying that he had been offered the Nobel Prize in the past and had rejected it,” the statement added.
