Rio Olympic silver-medallist PV Sindhu will aim to book her place in the finals of the Dubai World Superseries Finals when she takes on China’s Chen Yufei in the last-four clash on Saturday. The ace Indian shuttler eased past Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi 21-9, 21-13 in the last group stage fixture of the women’s singles to finish Group A at the top and reach the semi-finals of the tournament unbeaten.

Sindhu will now look to end her season on high when she faces Yufei in their last-four clash. This will be the sixth meeting between the two shuttlers.

The 22-year-old has won all her three group matches of the tournament. In her opening match, the Indian thrashed China’s He Bingjao 21-11, 16-21, 21-18 and followed that up with a 21-13, 21-12 win against Japan’s Sayaka Sato in second match.

Sindhu has already won India and Korea Open Super Series at the start of the season, while she has grabbed silver at Glasgow World Championship and Hong Kong Open. Sadly the season end didn’t exactly work out for Kidambi Srikanth as he bowed out of the finals after a series of losses.
