No parent would ever consider parting from their adorable tiny humans let alone selling them out. But a young couple in China are making news for the most shocking and flabbergasting reason ever.
The couple in question used social media to sell their daughter and use the money to buy an iPhone and other fancy goods.
This unemployed couple from Shangai unintentionally conceived the child when they were just 19-year-old. Unable to sustain the financial responsibility of the child, they decided to sell their baby using on social media. All this while, the couple was thinking it was a legitimate thing to do, mistaking it for adoption.
The biological mother of the baby reportedly told police: ‘I myself was adopted, and many people in my hometown send their kids to other people to raise them. I really didn’t know that it was illegal.’
Having spent some quality time in chat rooms, the couple began posting advertisements and finally found a suitable buyer for their infant daughter. The man quoted £2,500 (23,000 Yuan) for his 18-day-old baby girl in the social media post he shared. The buyer is unnamed and the baby is still with him. The police is yet to decide the best course of action for the baby.
